Overview
Tags in Bundlebird help you identify content across your school under common themes, subjects, or cohorts. You can later use tags to filter posts when creating newsletters, making it easier to build targeted editions. They also help parents find newsletter content most relevant to them.
Steps to Create a New Tag
- Open Manage School
- From your Dashboard, click on Manage School.
- Go to the Tags Section
- Scroll to the Tags section.
- Here you’ll see a list of all existing tags, including:
- Tag Name
- Tag Type (Cohort, Learning, or School)
- The number of posts that currently use the tag
- Create a New Tag
- Click New Tag.
- Enter a Tag Title (e.g., Year 5, STEM, Wellbeing).
- Choose a Tag Type to help categorise the tag:
Tag Type | Description |
Cohort | For specific student groups, class groups, or programs (e.g., Year 6, Outdoor Ed Group). |
Learning | For subject or learning areas (e.g., Maths, Science, Art). |
School | For whole-school programs or initiatives (e.g., Wellbeing, Harmony Day, Assembly). |

- Your new tag is now available across Bundlebird.
Where Tags Are Used
- Posts:
- When creating or editing a post, you can assign one or more tags.
- Tags are organised by tag type.
- Newsletters:
- When creating a newsletter, you can include only posts tagged with a specific tag.
- This is useful for sending targeted editions to certain groups (e.g., only STEM content to STEM Program families).
Tips
- Be consistent in naming tags (e.g., Year 1, Year 2, etc. instead of Yr1, Grade 1).
- Use tags to reduce content overload by tailoring newsletters to the right audience.
- Don’t over-tag. Focus on the 1–3 most relevant tags per post.
